Xander joined Tilhill in 2021 as a Forestry Investment Analyst after spending much of his career working in investment, but he also has experience working in Government and the non-profit sector.
Xander studied computer science at Oxford University but discovered an interest in finance and went on to build a career as an investment professional, first at a global emerging market hedge fund in London and then moving to the US to specialise in early-stage technology investments in Silicon Valley. Upon joining Tilhill, he has spent the past year visiting forestry sites across the UK as a forestry investment analyst, working closely with Tilhill’s forestry management teams.
Stuart Pearson, Tilhill’s Business Development Director said of Xander’s appointment:
We are looking forward to Xander leading Tilhill’s Forestry Investment team. He has excelled in his time at Tilhill offering clients professional and expert advice for investing in forestry and natural capital projects.
The Forestry Investment Team at Tilhill is highly successful in securing forests and woodland for our environmentally conscious investment clients. The team has been steadily growing over the last few months, so it is great to be able to consolidate the team’s credentials with this appointment. Xander will be leading the way in the full end-to-end investment services Tilhill offers.
In response to his new appointment, Xander said
I’m excited to be part of a team advising investors who see the opportunity for domestic timber, and the potential of trees in the face of climate change. We’re supported by the unique local knowledge of Tilhill’s forestry teams across Britain, which provides a strong foundation for investment decisions. My role now is to ensure that we provide the most accurate advice to ensure our clients have the confidence to acquire quality assets.
