Glastir Woodland Restoration
Glastir Woodland Restoration Expression of Interest Window is Open until 24th of April 2020
The Glastir Woodland Restoration Scheme provides restocking grants for woodlands infected by Phytophthora ramorum and stands of larch to be replanted to help slow down the spread of the disease. When a woodland is clear-felled, the scheme provides an opportunity to diversify tree species in order to increase resilience to climate change and damage from pests and diseases.
David Edwards, District Manager, Wales & Marches said: “The latest round of Glastir Woodland Restoration is welcome as a tool in dealing with the negative effects of Larch disease in Wales. Tilhill Forestry’s professional forestry team can help with advice to anyone who has Larch within their forests and woodlands.”
Changes have been made to Glastir Woodland Restoration with effect from this Expression of Interest (EOI) Window.
The budget available to Glastir Woodland Restoration for this EOI is £2 Million.
The 8th GWR EOI will open on 16 March 2020 and close at midnight on 24 April 2020.
This Expression of Interest is available to successful applicants who will be able to complete all capital works and planting by either 31 March 2022 or 31 March 2023.
GWR is available to replant areas of Larch irrespective of whether they have been infected with Phytophthora ramorum disease.
