Covid-19

The nations of the UK are all continuing to relax restrictions as the vaccination programme has reduced the mortality rate from Covid.

Our approach has been one of caution as vaccines do not prevent all infections and the current self-isolation rules present a clear business risk when infection rates are high and groups gather together. We are now seeing this in other industries with businesses having to close or restrict services due to staff shortages through enforced self-isolation.

We must ensure that we maintain our Covid controls on sites and in offices to minimise the risk of transmission and avoid being considered a ‘close contact’ requiring self isolation.

This is particularly important while infection rates are high. The latest wave of infection was predominantly in the 10-25 year old population where access to vaccines had been limited. Infections have though spread through the working age range. While the infection rates have shown recent signs of falling, overall they still remain high.
