David Smith - Harvesting Manager
David’s forestry career spans over 30 years. He started straight out of school with a working apprenticeship based on a private estate in Southern England and attending Holme Lacy College.
He then joined a contracting company in the Wyre Forest before working with a private estate forestry team in the Midlands and spending some time with the National Trust.
Following on from this he joined a family firm as their harvesting contract manager, which led to the purchase of the harvesting section of the company and forming his own timber harvesting contracting company in 1996, before joining Tilhill in March 2010.
This has provided him with vast experience in forestry harvesting and managing the various [needs/wishes/requirements] of landowners, contractors and hauliers, as well as the various statutory bodies that are involved in a successful harvesting operation.
