Speak to Simon Marrington
Tilhill North & Central England Area Manager and Forester will be on hand to discuss requirements for your land.
Simon has twenty-five years of public and private sector experience in the UK forest industry. He has an in-depth understanding of the Yorkshire and North East England ‘Woodlands for Water’ initiative, working as an appointed agent for the Forestry Commission and Environment Agency to advise on new planting schemes which improve water quality and contribute to flood risk alleviation.
He is keen to increase the uptake of this regionally targeted funding amongst private landowners, having previously co-ordinated programme delivery for Defra’s innovative natural flood management project ‘Slowing the Flow at Pickering’. Simon has detailed knowledge of capital grant schemes and wider funding opportunities for new woodland creation in England, including potential income from carbon sequestration.
He also has extensive experience delivering large-scale operational forest management programmes, commercial Christmas tree production and the management of trees and woodlands on golf courses.
