Balnagowan is predominately a mid-rotation Scots pine woodland with a small proportion of mature Norway spruce. The woodland has a proven access and a borrow pit on site.
Thinning could take place in the next 5 – 10 years to improve the quality of the final crop and provide some short-term income. The woodland is very close to local sawmills providing good demand for available timber.
