Assistant Forest Manager (Graduate)
Joe Western has recently joined the team and will be based in East Anglia and Chilterns. He attended Sparsholt College where he completed a Diploma in Gamekeeping and Countryside Management and then went on to a achieve a 2:1 BSc in Countryside Management at Harper Adams University.
During his time at University he spent a year’s placement working for the National Trust in Cumbria working alongside the forestry and Wasdale Ranger Team in the West Lakes.
After completing his course he became a self-employed groundsman working with various arboriculture companies.
He soon realised that he wanted to develop his working career in the forestry sector and joined the team on the Englefield Estate where he worked as a trainee forester for a year, learning different silvicultural practices and gaining valuable insight and knowledge which he is keen to use at Tilhill.
