Iona MacGregor

Iona MacGregor, Forest Manager BSc (Hons)

Iona graduated from Scottish School of Forestry in 2013 with a BSc in Sustainable Forest Management with Conservation. She carried out a mid-year placement with the Northern Ireland Forest Service focussing mainly on forest management and also completed a student exchange to the University of Lapland, Rovaniemi, Finland focussing on anthropogenic activity on the natural environment, Finnish forestry and silvicultural practices.

Iona moved to what was formerly known as Forest Enterprise Scotland (Forestry Commission) in the north east of Scotland  and became an operations works supervisor for 2.5 years ensuring site, environmental and health and safety was being adhered to on harvesting and restock sites.  She was then promoted to a Forest Management role, focussing on delivering an annual restock programme to the highest quality whilst also delivering best value for money and held that role for 4.5 years.

Iona joined Tilhill as a Forest Manager in September 2020. Her interests outside of work: hill walking, baking and chocolate making.
