Ardlawhill Wood was planted in 2002 with 15 hectares of Sitka spruce. In 2007, a further 13 hectares of Sitka spruce were planted, along with 2 hectares of Japanese larch. Generally, the crop has established well and is growing at around yield class 16. Some slower growing areas would benefit from improved drainage to take full advantage of the woodland’s growing potential. Overall, the crop is growing well and should provide a good return on investment upon maturity.
Mixed native broadleaves have also been established, amounting to approximately 4 hectares, which add diversity to the woodland, as well as providing some firewood in future years. The open rides and clearings, amounting to 10.9 hectares, provide pleasant views and add charm to this productive property.
Tilhill Forestry is not acting as the selling agent and is free to advise potential purchasers on this property.
