Sea wood forest is located in the northern half of the Kintyre peninsula opposite the isle of Jura. The forest is approximately 12 miles south west of Lochgilphead. The public road B8024 is accessed from the main A83 south of Ardrishaig.
The main access is shared with the Forestry Commission allowing for good access to the edge of the forest block where there is 200m of stone road. There are no additional roads within the forest plantation.
The forest is mainly set out with Sitka spruce as the predominant tree species ranging in yield class from 10-18m3/ha/yr. The main forest was planted in the mid 1980's offering potential for good timber income in the near future. There are various areas on the western boundary that have larch species and mixed broadleaves, planted in small attractive corners on the edge of the forest boundary areas.
Approximately 7.5ha has been recently harvested and awaits restocking. There are small areas of mixed broadleaves allowing for a full view of the Island of Jura.
Tilhill Forestry is not acting as the selling agent and is free to advise potential purchasers on this property.
